Role Overview:

As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by providing technical expertise and support to our customers. To do this they must engage directly with end users and channel partners on solutions that meet their needs. This position is hands on, collaborates with other departments and is the champion for this side of the business. This person shall possess strong organizational and communication skills as needed to handle multiple projects. The Sales Engineer will collaborate with sales, engineering and operations to scope functional requirements, identify risks, and issues, and drive execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your electrical engineering background to provide technical guidance and support to customers, understanding their requirements and recommending appropriate solutions to close sales.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their long-term goals and fostering trust and loyalty. Serve as a trusted advisor by offering technical insights and industry expertise.
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies related to electrical engineering. Conduct market research to identify potential sales opportunities and strategies.
  • Customer Training: Provide technical training and support to customers, enabling them to effectively use our products and solutions. Address any technical challenges or issues that arise. Interact with customers on design, engineering, and any questions/problems they may have.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, product management, and customer support, to ensure seamless communication and alignment of technical solutions with customer needs.
  • Interact with vendors concerning parts they supply or propose to supply to company.
  • Coordinate with engineering to generate needed documentation, i.e. technical drawings, BOMs, and labor routings.
  • Work with the quality department to define problem areas and implement product improvements based on customer repair/rejection concerns.
  • ales Forecasting: Assist in forecasting sales targets and contribute to the development of sales strategies and plans, based on market analysis and customer feedback.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/ move up to 50 pounds of material without assistance. Ability to lift over 50 pounds with assistance from others.
  • Ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to travel for sale meetings 30-50% of time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience proven experience in technical sales or a customer-facing role
  • Experience defining and developing products to meet customer requirements
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts
  • Proficient in interpreting technical specifications and drawings
  • Ability to work hands-on to support and lead projects and programs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
